This is a fuel planner I am using for the Flight One Citation Mustang to estimate fuel loading requirements. The planner is a modification of the excellent fuel planner that Aeroworx put together for their Extreme Super King Air B200 for Flight Simulator 2004. If you are familiar with that fuel planner, you will notice that my format is near identical to theirs, and even my instructions contain only minor changes from theirs. I hope this makes things easier. Here are some important points about the planner:
- Throttle position is not a variable - the planner uses climb and max cruise detente parameters for its calculations. This will provide conservative fuel consumption estimates. The "Planner" and "Route" tabs display the expected N1 values from the "Climb Schedules" tab. Note that these were variables on the Aeroworx planner.
- Weight does not affect consumption estimates - all consumption is base on a 7,500 lb. aircraft weight. This simplification was used because fuel consumption does not vary significantly with weight changes.
- The actual values used to create the tables on the "Climb Schedules" tab cover a temperature range of ISA-10 to ISA+20. Extrapolations - which tend to be less accurate - are used for temperatures outside of that range.
An example flight is provided on the spreadsheet. It is a flight from Astoria, OR, to Jackson, WY, with way points over Portland, Boise, and Idaho Falls using the current on line winds aloft information at the time.
